Use of the site

You may use NestCost for personal, non-commercial information purposes. You may not scrape, mass-download, or systematically copy our pages or data without prior written permission. The underlying data is sourced from publicly available government datasets — see the About page — and you are free to obtain that data directly from those sources.

Information accuracy

We work hard to make the data accurate and current. However, the figures shown are medians and historical averages from third-party government sources, and they will not match every individual property or current market conditions. NestCost is provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind.

Nothing on NestCost constitutes financial, real-estate, legal, or tax advice. Make significant decisions — like signing a lease, taking on a mortgage, or moving — based on professional advice and your own due diligence.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the information shown on NestCost. If a non-excludable consumer guarantee applies, our liability is limited to re-supplying the relevant information.

Intellectual property

The NestCost site, code, design, and original content are © Declan Doherty. Underlying datasets are owned by their respective publishers (NSW DCJ, QLD RTA, Homes Victoria, ABS) and remain subject to their licences — most are Creative Commons Attribution.

Third-party links and ads

The site contains links to third-party websites and may display third-party advertising. We don't control those sites or ads and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

Changes

We may change these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
