Privacy policy

NestLedger ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Declan Doherty (ABN 82 607 141 617). This policy explains what information we collect when you use nestledger.com.au and how we handle it. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We do not require you to create an account or submit personal information to use NestLedger. We do collect:

  • Standard server logs — IP address, user agent, timestamp, and the page requested. Used for security and to keep the site running.
  • Analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records pseudonymous usage data (which pages are viewed, broad geographic region, device type) so we can understand which features are useful.
  • Advertising — third-party ad partners may set cookies to display and measure ads. See the "Advertising and cookies" section below.
  • Anything you send us by email — if you contact us, we'll keep your message and our reply for as long as needed to respond and any reasonable follow-up.

What we don't do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not build user profiles tied to your real identity.
  • We do not require sign-up or collect names, addresses, or phone numbers.

Advertising and cookies

NestLedger displays advertising to support the site. Our ad partners (including Google, via Google AdSense) may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Show ads relevant to your interests based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Limit the number of times you see the same ad.
  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads to users based on prior visits to this and other sites. Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting https://optout.aboutads.info/ or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at https://optout.networkadvertising.org/. You can also manage personalised ads from Google via Google Ads Settings, or block cookies in your browser settings — the site will still work without them.

Data retention

Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Analytics data is retained per Cloudflare Web Analytics' defaults. Email correspondence is kept as long as we reasonably need it.

Sharing with third parties

We share data only with the service providers required to operate the site (hosting, analytics, advertising). We will only disclose information to law enforcement when legally required to do so.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act, you can request access to or correction of any personal information we hold about you, or complain about how we've handled your information. Contact us at hello@nestledger.com.au. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.
